Alpha

The Alpha course finished on the 5th of December, having run for 11 consecutive weeks and one Saturday. Those who were involved in the preparation and facilitation of the course want to say a really big and heartfelt thank you to everyone in the parish that contributed in their many different and essential ways. The list is too long to mention specific details..but for the many who prayed on site or at home, those who prepared and served food, those who cleaned up afterwards, the folk who set up the hall beautifully those who led the tables, the back office administration, those who contributed financially and those who invited folk along. This was a wonderful event a truly whole parish effort and a great privilege to be part of.

Tot’s Treats: Help Needed!

Help is needed at both of our Tot’s Treats groups…

St Luke’s Tots meet on a Wednesday morning from 9.00 to 11.30 two Wednesdays each month. If you can help please contact Janet on 01323 872281.

Would anyone be able to help with Tots Treats on a Thursday morning? Our number of volunteers has suddenly reduced and we would appreciate some help especially to pack the toys away at 11 o’clock. Also we would love to have a regular musician (guitar, piano or accordion…) to encourage the singing for 15 minutes. If you feel that you would like to come and join us, please get in touch with Ann on 01323 893318.

Help Keep St. Leonard’s Open

We urgently need more helpers on Tuesday mornings to keep the church open. This a great opportunity to welcome new visitors, meet up with friends and relax and reflect in our busy lives. Interested? For more information contact Betty Landrock, Julia (in the choir) or one of the church wardens. Please consider volunteering.

Safeguarding

Safeguarding Simple Quality Protects is a tool introduced across the Diocese for churches to assess how well they are doing with their safeguarding practice. Very recently the Parish was inspected on our safeguarding arrangements, and we have passed Level 1, which is great news. Many thanks to everyone who has attended training, signed codes of conduct and provided Ruth with information etc. You will see our certificate up in both churches, and it is definitely for us all.

Thank You…

To all who gave so generously food, gifts and vouchers for the Family Support Work Christmas Appeal. Your gifts have been taken to Brighton where the sorting and distributing by volunteers started straight away.

We would like to thank everyone that helps and encourages us in our outreach on Saturday open mornings, Christmas Magic Day and other charitable events. On Seaford Christmas Magic Day last week we raised almost £500 just in donations, but it is the outreach to the town that really matters with several hundred visitors during the day. Though you may not get a Christmas Card from us you are all in our thoughts. We wish you a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year. Bless you all. Fred & Jayne Bass

A very big thank you to Fred and Jayne Bass for organising the refreshments and raffle at the Archway concert on 14 December, and for coming up with the idea of giving the proceeds to HOMELINK. Thanks to their hard work, and that of the many volunteers from St Leonard’s who gave up their time to help, a total of £530 was raised. Well done everyone and thank you on behalf of HOMELINK.
