Bible Study

There are various opportunities available for getting to know your Bible better.

Firstly, we welcome everyone to join a home group. These groups meet primarily to study the Bible and pray together, but also create good fellowship, so that group members become firm friends. Those who are already in groups testify to the value of being able to explore and discuss matters of faith together in the setting of a small group.

We have a number of home groups in the parish and they are always open to new members, so if you would like to join a group, please tell us. There are groups meeting on most evenings of the week and a couple in the mornings, and we will find one to suit you. We look forward to learning new things together and exploring ways in which God's word speaks to us today.

Phone Christine on 01323 892969 or contact one of the other clergy.

Special courses happen from time to time, for example at Lent. Also all the home groups follow the same study material at least once a year, and this is sometimes linked into the Sunday preaching. Watch the Homepage for news of these events, or find details in the magazine and the weekly pew sheet.

If you need guidance with your personal Bible reading, there is a lot out there to help you, in the way of Bible reading notes or Study Guides. Ask the clergy for advice.

Websites for learning about the Christian faith

If you would like to explore the Christian faith, there are many avenues open to you. Among others, here are some helpful websites:

Alpha UK uk.alpha.org

Rejesus www.rejesus.co.uk

The Christian Enquiry Agency www.christianity.org

Conferences

Attending a Christian conference can be a life-changing experience, because of the stimulation of enjoying Christian teaching and worship with hundreds, if not thousands, of other Christians. Many who have been on these conferences come back fulll of enthusiasm and looking forward to the next one the following year.

There is usually a group from the parish at both conferences, and if you are interested in joining them, please contact one of the clergy.
