Worship

Our parish offers a variety of worship, both on Sundays and during the week, so that everyone can find a service to suit their needs.
Holy Communion is at the heart of Anglican worship, when we gather round the table to share in the bread and wine, in remembrance of Christ's death on the cross for us. This service is offered every week, in both churches, mostly in the modern language of our contemporary Common Worship. However, it is also offered in traditional language on occasion, using The Book of Common Prayer.
We also offer worship without Holy Communion, usually of a more informal nature. Hence you will find The Meeting Place at St. Leonard's and Energise at St. Luke's, or Matins for those wishing to be less informal. In addition, we offer more relaxed occasions for worship on a monthly basis: Messy Church at St.Leonard's and Cafe Luke at St.Luke's.

Contemporary Worship/Fresh Expressions of Worship

Both St.Leonard's and St. Luke's offer opportunities for those who want to worship in a relaxed, informal way.

Messy Church logoMessy Church is held on the first Sunday of every month in St. Leonard's Hall at 9.30am.
It is a time of painting and craft and lovely messy fun for you with your children, along with some songs and some learning of God. Bacon butties and coffee make a good start!  Messy Church is for all the family.

'The Meeting Place' happens every Sunday morning at St.Leonard's at 11.00am, except on the first Sunday when there is Messy Church. 'The Meeting Place' offers informal worship in a contemporary style, for everyone, with music group and activites for children.

Cafe LukeCafe Luke is held once a month on the third Friday from 7:30pm (Café opening) to around 9:30/10pm. The worship starts at 8pm and finishes at approximately 9pm. Café Luke is aimed at young people in school year 6/7 and above. However, all ages are welcome to come along. Fairtrade refreshments are served throughout the evening. There is a children's chill-out zone for the under 10s if needed and also a prayer room for quiet reflection.
The aim of Café Luke is to reach out to young people in the community and share God's love with them; to provide them with opportunities for worship, discussion, personal spiritual development and space to explore the Christian faith. Also, for those young people already involved in the Church, this is an opportunity to deepen their faith and commitment to Christ.

If you want to know more about Cafe Luke, speak to one of the clergy, or contact Kate and Andy Steer: Tel 891281 or 07785766410 or email cafeluke@seafordparish.org.uk
