Parish Groups    

                                                                   
Groups of people meet in the parish on most days, sometimes to do some practical work, sometimes to plan and organise, sometimes to pray or study, and sometimes just for fun! Those listed below are ones that you might like to join or to encourage someone else to be part of. 
                                

Mothers' Union

supports families by:

  • developing prayer and spiritual growth
  • reflecting on family life and marriage and its place in society;
  • providing resources for practical action to improve conditions for families.

Mothers' Union meets at 2.30pm on the 2nd Friday of the month in St. Leonard's Hall

The Parish Women's Group is a social group that meets on the 1st and 3rd Monday of every month, at 7.30pm, in St. Leonard's Hall.

Encompass is a social group which meets on the 3rd Monday of the month in St Luke’s Church Hall and is an opportunity to make new friends or chat to old friends. Each meeting is different –an interesting speaker, or an activity, or entertainer –followed by sandwiches and cake and tea –and then time to chat.  All ages welcome.
There is a £2.00 charge to cover costs.

The Craft Club is for crafters of all ages to come and share an afternoon of craft together. It meets on the 1st Thursday of every month,from 2.00-4.30pm in St. Luke's. For further details contact Rita Carrington on 01323 896014  

 

St.Luke's Coffee Morning (plus a bring-and-buy) happens every Wednesday from 10am-12noon at St. Luke's.

Wednesday Lunches are on the third Wednesday of each month at 12.45 in St.Leonard's Hall. They are open to anyone who would enjoy a meal in company. Tickets need to be purchased in advance from either church.

 

The Puppet Team practise puppeteering on Fridays from 7.00 to 8.00pm upstairs in St.Leonard's Hall. They bring their puppets to perform at Messy Church and The Meeting Place, and give lively presentations. They don't meet every Thursday, so if you are interested give Hazel or David a call on 01273 517706 before popping in to their practice sessions.

 

The Bell Ringers practise on Tuesday evenings from 8.00pm and would welcome new ringers or visitors from other towers. The peal of eight bells in St. Leonard is rung to call people to worship on Sunday mornings and to celebrate weddings and other special occasions.  The tower captain is Linda Perkins Tel: 01323 892265
